Micciche Photography has been a proud long-standing member of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce. We have served the triad area of North Carolina since 2004 and provide personal and corporate photography needs to our clients. We have captured some of the larger events for the Chamber throughout the year and this year's State of our Community was a huge success with over 1000 attendees.
The event was held at the Koury Convention Center/Sheraton Four Seasons on W. Gate City Blvd in Greensboro, North Carolina. Brent Christensen kicked off the event with a welcome message followed by a vocal presentation from Elise Vannerson who is a leading role in the Broadway production “Beautiful: The Carole King Musical.” The Steven Tanger Center for the performing arts building is now being constructed in downtown Greensboro and we look forward to the launch and opening night of this amazing new venue space scheduled to open spring of 2020.
There were two major awards given during this event. The first was the Stanley Frank Economic and Workforce Development Award and presented to Steve Showfety for decades of service to our community and the Koury Corporation. The second award was the Hubert b. Humphrey, Jr. School Improvement Fund Award. This award was presented by Dr. Sharon Contreras, superintendent of Guilford County Schools, and was given to Ragsdale High School in Jamestown, North Carolina.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Ron Ferguson of Harvard University and spoke on “The Achievement Gap”. He elaborated on the importance of our youth and education. It was a great keynote presentation and finished the awards luncheon on a high note.
