I have been a proud member of The Greensboro Chamber of Commerce for over 12 years and had the opportunity to photograph their annual State of Our Community event last month. This year's event was sold out and was a huge success.
The Chamber has asked me to document this event for many years and I always look forward to it. The annual event takes place at the Koury Convention Center and this year the venue had over 800 attendees from all types of businesses here in the Triad of North Carolina. The opening remarks were provided by Brent Christensen who is the President and CEO of The Greensboro Chamber of Commerce.
The main purpose of this event is to provide some updates about our growing community and to acknowledge some important people as well with awards and recognition.
There are three major awards given each year at the State of Our Community to recognize school improvement, community acceleration and economic/workforce development. The Triad has experienced amazing growth and economic boom in the last few years and I'm excited to be part of it here in Greensboro, NC.
Awards =
Hubert B. Humphrey Jr. School Improvement Awards
Kathiann Lester Accelerate Award
Stanley Frank Economic and Workforce Development Award
The event was sold out this year and also had some VIP attendees from many important organizations, businesses and political seats such as Senator Tom Tillis and Congresswomen Kathy Manning to name a few.
Once the awards portion and lunch was complete we then listened to this year's keynote presenter, Blake Schooll, CEO of Boom Supersonic. It has been exciting working for Boom for the last few years as one of our corporate clients. I have to thank the Chamber for that referral and introduction to Boom's marketing department to begin working their important events and recent documentation of the superfactory located at the PTI Greensboro Airport.
Blake spoke about the beginnings of this amazing business and explained why they decided to call Greensboro home. He also shared the progress of the test flights which have taken place in the Mojave dessert and shared a very cool video clip of the recent successful flight mission.
Greensboro has been home to my family and my business since 2004 and proud to call it home. Micciche Photography has been the premier corporate and commercial photography studio since 2004 with a studio located in downtown Greensboro on S Elm St. I appreciate all the work and wonderful things The Greensboro Chamber of Commerce does for our growing town!
